Dr Tom O’ Brien
I am delighted to have joined such a brilliant team here at Shackleton Clinic. I have thirty
years’ experience in all aspects of dentistry. Every dentist here at Shackleton Clinic is very
capable. I can only add a few skills that are helpful to everyone, I hope. Root canals of
difficult teeth is a challenge I enjoy. If anyone is nervous, I am happy to use sedation with
very effective tablets. I am comfortable with difficult extractions also. Regarding improving
appearance, I would always want to guide patients carefully in a direction that works for
them and is minimally invasive.
I do find the more crooked, dark, and misshapen the teeth are initially, the more satisfying it is to bring them up to a normal smile or perhaps brighter if desired …. again, minimally
invasive is usually the theme here also. Overall making patients comfortable relaxed and
more trusting at end of treatment is my goal which fits the whole ethos of Shackleton Clinic.
My interests outside of work are golf, my family and charitable work.
